Introduction
Charles Dickens (1812-1870) is a well-known English writer and social critic who created many world’s best-known fictional characters in the Victorian era (1832- 1901). He is recognized as a great novelist in his contemporary time.
Short Biography
The full name of Charles Dickens is Charles John Huffam Dickens who was born in Landport, Portsmouth, in 1812 and died in 1870. He was the 2nd of the eight children of John Dickens (1786–1851) and Elizabeth Dickens (1789–1863). He had not got the opportunity for education and he left the school for his poverty. He was the editor of the weekly journal for 20 years and wrote 15 novels, five novellas, hundreds of short stories and non-fiction articles, and so on.

In the Victorian period, Charles Dickens is regarded as a current newspaper and he can be compared with contemporary Victorian poet Alfred Tennyson. His novels deal with London life. His famous novels are:
