Carpe Diem

Carpe Diem is a Latin phrase that means ‘seize the day’ that expresses that ‘enjoy the present without caring much for the future’. This term is coined out by the ancient Roman poet Horace in his work Odes.

Best examples of Carpe Diem theory are Andrew Marvell (1621-1678)’s “To His Coy Mistress” and Robert Herrick (1591-1674)’s “To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time.”
