Burke assaults the misuse of power by The East India Company. He laments that the British are so crude and ungenerous. They were isolated and detached from the Indians as they could not associate with them. The British rulers ruled there without any society. They never showed any sympathy towards the natives. The young rulers were only there to make their own fortunes anyhow. The English conquered India twenty years back, but they did not build any stately monuments. They built no churches, no hospitals, no bridges, and no schools.
The majority of income came from the Indian subcontinent. The English only exploited and utilized them. The Indians were neglected and did not get what they deserved. In spite of being an Englishman, Burke has shown us the hollowness of British rule in India through his remarkable speech.
